SEEN This Week 10/17/11

It's been a big week for authors and the writing world. Read on for the latest:

Memoir of a Milk Carton Kid author Tanya Kach is making several appearances since her book arrives in stores October 11. She gave a two-part interview on Dr. Phil's show October 11-12, discussing her ten years as a hostage beginning at age 14 by her school's crossing guard. Tanya also spoke of her ordeal with Pittsburgh CBS affiliate KDKA on October 12. She is profiled as the October 16-22 author on my Authors on Show web site page.

Randy Attwood now has nine books posted on Smashwords.

Great news from HarperCollins: Congratulations to Mary Vensel White for being selected for publication after being discovered on Authonomy. More on Mary's latest accomplishment can be read here.

Matt Hammond's book Milkshake attracted attention of the Ngaio Marsh Award for best crime novel in New Zealand.

Lynnette Khalfani-Cox, aka The Money Coach, a personal finance expert, television and radio personality, and the author of numerous books, including the New York Times bestseller Zero Debt: The Ultimate Guide to Financial Freedom is offering RushCard members downloads three of her books, Zero Debt, Perfect Credit, and Your First Home for just $1.99!

When Love is Not Enough by Wade Kelly is listed in a bookstore, Outwords Books He encourages all who buy the paperback to support small businesses instead of buying it from Amazon.

Publishers Weekly announced last week that Amazon added another genre to its publishing stable, with the launch of 47North, a science fiction/fantasy/horror imprint that will publish original and previously published works from new and established authors as well as out-of-print books.
